# phase.fitness for Liftosaur users

> Liftosaur runs a program with precision and asks you to write it. phase.fitness writes it — phases, bands, RPE — pushes it as Liftoscript, and reads the history back to write the next one.

## The short answer

phase.fitness connects to Liftosaur two-way for strength: generated programs are pushed as Liftoscript, and workout history comes back with planned versus completed reps and the loads you used. The estimated 1RMs are recomputed from that log, each week's targets are planned when the phase is written, and when a phase ends the AI writes the next block from what Liftosaur recorded. Cardio goes to Garmin or Intervals.icu instead, calisthenics runs in the phase.fitness player, and Liftosaur and Hevy are mutually exclusive as strength destinations.

## Is there an AI that writes Liftoscript?

phase.fitness does: a generated phase is pushed to Liftosaur as a program in Liftoscript, with sets, reps, loads and progression, ready to run. Workout history comes back with planned versus completed reps, the estimated 1RMs are recomputed from it, and the next phase is written from what Liftosaur recorded.

## Can Liftosaur handle cardio in the same program?

Not in phase.fitness: Liftosaur receives strength only. The cardio sessions of the same program go to Garmin or Intervals.icu and the calisthenics to the phase.fitness player, and all of it counts in the same phase. Liftosaur and Hevy are mutually exclusive as strength destinations: you connect one or the other.

## Your week, honestly

- **Liftoscript is powerful and you have to write it.** Every progression rule, every block, by hand — and a periodized program is a lot of rules.
- **The program never reads the history it produces.** Liftosaur knows planned versus completed reps for every set; the next program is written without looking.
- **Cardio and skills are outside the script.** A running block or a front lever has nowhere to live in a lifting DSL.

## What phase.fitness does about it

- **Programs as Liftoscript** — A generated phase is pushed to Liftosaur as a program with sets, reps, loads and progression, ready to run. (https://www.phase.fitness/integrations)
- **History comes back** — Workout history returns with planned versus completed reps and loads, updates the estimated 1RMs, and shapes the next phase.
- **The next phase from the log** — When a block ends, the AI compares the plan with what Liftosaur recorded and writes the next block from it. (https://www.phase.fitness/ai-periodization)
- **The rest of the week, elsewhere** — Cardio sessions go to Garmin or Intervals.icu, calisthenics to the phase.fitness player, and all of it counts in the same phase.

## Programs to start from

- [Strength training program, periodized](https://www.phase.fitness/training-programs/strength-training-program) — phase.fitness writes strength as blocks with different jobs — volume, then intensity, then expression — with weekly set bands the plan is checked against and loads regulated by RPE, instead of the same 5×5 until it stops working.
- [Powerlifting program: accumulate, intensify, peak](https://www.phase.fitness/training-programs/powerlifting-program) — phase.fitness writes a powerlifting block from the document its generator reads: a volume phase at 65–80%, a strength phase at 75–90%, a peak at 85–100%, weekly sets per lift set by your experience, and every load regulated by RPE.
- [Upper / lower split, four days](https://www.phase.fitness/training-programs/upper-lower-split-program) — phase.fitness writes upper/lower as the four-day split the frequency document recommends for intermediates: every muscle twice a week, a strength day and a hypertrophy day for each half, and two blocks — volume, then intensity — with a deload between them.
- [Hypertrophy program built on volume landmarks](https://www.phase.fitness/training-programs/hypertrophy-program) — phase.fitness writes a hypertrophy block from the volume landmarks its generator reads: start each muscle near its minimum effective volume, climb toward the adaptive range across the block, and deload before the maximum recoverable volume becomes a problem.

## Frequently asked questions

### How does a phase.fitness program get into Liftosaur?

It is pushed as Liftoscript with the sets, reps, loads and progression of the phase. You run it in Liftosaur as you would any program.

### What comes back from Liftosaur?

Workout history with planned versus completed reps and the loads used. phase.fitness recomputes the estimated 1RMs from it and writes the next phase from the log.

### Can I also connect Hevy?

No. Hevy and Liftosaur are mutually exclusive as strength destinations; you connect one or the other. Garmin, Intervals.icu and Strava can be connected alongside either.

## The only app that plans strength, cardio and calisthenics together

For a Liftosaur user the calisthenics day is what the script cannot express — skill steps with holds and progressions — run in the phase.fitness player and counted alongside the lifting.

Right now, phase.fitness is the only training app that writes strength, cardio and calisthenics into one periodized program — same calendar, same phases, same recovery budget.

You choose the mix. A calisthenics-only plan, a cardio-only block, strength plus cardio, or all three: the phases, the end-of-phase analysis and the sync work the same way with one modality or three.

**Why calisthenics is in the plan.** Bodyweight skill work is strength training in a different shape. Straight-arm work, levers and handstands build scapular control, tendon capacity and relative strength that barbell and machine work leave untouched, and they transfer because they are closed-chain, whole-body patterns. Treated as a modality rather than a warm-up, they get sets, holds and progressions like a squat does.

No exercise catalogue on the market contains a tuck front lever, so those sessions run in the phase.fitness built-in player; strength goes to Hevy, Liftosaur or a Garmin watch, cardio to Garmin and Intervals.icu.
