The app you already use
phase.fitness for Garmin users
Your Garmin can guide you through any structured workout; writing a good one is the hard part. Write the plan in phase.fitness — strength with sets and reps, cardio with intervals and zones — send it to Garmin Connect, and train it on your watch. What you finish comes back and ticks off the plan.

The short answer
Write it here, train it on your Garmin. phase.fitness writes the periodized program and, once you allow it, sends it to Garmin Connect: strength sessions arrive on the watch with sets and reps, cardio sessions with intervals and heart-rate targets — running, cycling, swimming, rowing, walking and hiking by name, other sports as generic cardio. When the watch syncs, the activities you finished come back and mark the planned sessions done. From Garmin, phase.fitness takes activities only — no sleep, HRV or body battery — and the AI uses them to adapt your plan only if you allow it, a choice you can change in Settings at any time. Calisthenics sessions stay in the phase.fitness player, because Garmin's exercise set has no tuck front lever.
How do I get a training plan onto my Garmin watch?
Write it in phase.fitness and allow sending: the planned strength and cardio sessions go to Garmin Connect and appear on the watch before you train, strength with sets and reps, cardio with intervals and heart-rate targets. When the watch syncs, the activities you finished come back and mark the planned sessions done.
Can a Garmin watch run a hybrid training plan?
It can carry most of one. phase.fitness writes strength, cardio and calisthenics into one periodized program and sends the strength and the cardio to Garmin Connect — the one destination that receives both. The calisthenics sessions stay in the phase.fitness player, because Garmin's exercise set has no tuck front lever.
Your week, honestly
A capable watch with nothing planned on it.
It can lead you through intervals, zones and sets, but only once someone has written the workout.
Building a workout on the watch is a chore.
Intervals, targets and repeats typed into a tiny screen, once per session, forever.
Strength on the wrist is a stopwatch.
Sets and reps exist on Garmin, but nothing sends a periodized program there.
What phase.fitness does about it
Once you allow it, planned strength and cardio sessions go to Garmin Connect and appear on the watch before you start — sets and reps for lifting, intervals and zones for cardio.
Finished sessions come back
Completed activities arrive in phase.fitness as the watch syncs and mark the planned sessions done. From Garmin it takes activities only: no sleep, HRV or body battery.
Let the AI use your Garmin activities and the next phase is adapted to the duration, heart rate and distance you actually trained. Leave it off and your activities still come in, but the AI doesn't see them. You can change it anytime in Settings.
Six sports by name
Running, cycling, swimming, rowing, walking and hiking arrive with their own sport type; triathlon, kayaking, cross-country skiing and mountaineering as generic cardio.

Garmin is the one destination that receives both strength and cardio. What it does not receive is calisthenics: those sessions run in the phase.fitness built-in player.

Frequently asked questions
Does phase.fitness send strength workouts to a Garmin watch?
Yes. Once you allow it, planned strength sessions are sent to Garmin Connect with sets and reps and appear on the watch; when you finish, the activity comes back and marks the session done. Cardio sessions go the same way with intervals and zones.
Which sports reach the watch with the right type?
From phase.fitness, running, cycling, swimming, rowing, walking and hiking arrive with their own sport type. Triathlon, kayaking, cross-country skiing and mountaineering arrive as generic cardio — the session is there, the label is less precise.
Does phase.fitness read sleep and body battery from Garmin?
No. From Garmin, phase.fitness takes your activities only — what the watch records for a session, such as duration, heart rate and distance. Sleep, HRV, body battery and stress are not collected. If you want recovery data in your plan, Intervals.icu can bring HRV and resting heart rate.
Does the AI see my Garmin activities?
Only if you allow it. When you connect Garmin, phase.fitness asks whether the AI may use your Garmin activities to adapt your plan, and you can turn it off anytime in Settings. Either way, your finished activities come back and mark the planned sessions done.
The only app that plans strength, cardio and calisthenics together
For a Garmin user the calisthenics day is the one session that does not go to the watch — levers, holds and skill steps run in the phase.fitness player — and it still counts in the same phase as the sessions that do.
Right now, phase.fitness is the only training app that writes strength, cardio and calisthenics into one periodized program — same calendar, same phases, same recovery budget.
You choose the mix. A calisthenics-only plan, a cardio-only block, strength plus cardio, or all three: the phases, the end-of-phase analysis and the sync work the same way with one modality or three.
Why calisthenics is in the plan
Bodyweight skill work is strength training in a different shape. Straight-arm work, levers and handstands build scapular control, tendon capacity and relative strength that barbell and machine work leave untouched, and they transfer because they are closed-chain, whole-body patterns. Treated as a modality rather than a warm-up, they get sets, holds and progressions like a squat does.
No exercise catalogue on the market contains a tuck front lever, so those sessions run in the phase.fitness built-in player; strength goes to Hevy, Liftosaur or a Garmin watch, cardio to Garmin and Intervals.icu. How the skill work is programmed.
